What kind of fund this is

A fund that holds futures on a basket of commodities: energy, metals and crops.

An ETF (exchange-traded fund) is a basket of investments that trades on the stock exchange like a single share. Its price moves with whatever it holds, and the fund company takes a small yearly fee out of the fund. ETF or stock: the difference.

The last 30 trading days

Reading these prices

The price here is the last trade on the IEX exchange before the 16:00 New York close. Shares of DBC trade on many exchanges at once and IEX handles only a small slice, so the official closing price published elsewhere can differ by a few cents. IEX publishes each day's data the next day, so this page is never live.

A single day's move says little on its own: prices go up and down for many reasons, most of them short-lived. What moves markets and risk and return explain more.
